High Street health food retailer Holland and Barrett have announced today that they are to remove all products from their shelves which contain toxic ingredients such as parabens.

www.telegraph.co.uk has reported:

"The chain will be the first high street name to drop all items which contain parabens or sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), which research has linked to various health problems. The chemicals are widely used by the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Parabens are found in hundreds of beauty products as a preservative. However, research in Britain has suggested that parabens can build up in the body and are linked to conditions such as breast cancer."
